What this app does
SAFE-KIDS CHECK records exactly who dropped a child off, who is in the room right now, and who collected them — with the time of every step. It follows the same safeguarding method used in hospitals and airports: a two-part identity match. At drop-off the system creates a unique 4-digit pickup code tied to that one child and that one check-in. At pickup the code must match before the child can be released. Research on error prevention consistently shows that matching a second, independent identifier — rather than relying on a face, a name, or memory — removes almost all mistaken hand-overs, and that a written, time-stamped record beats human recall. Every action here is stamped by the server, not the phone, so the log cannot be edited after the fact.
How to use it
If you are a parent
Sign in with the email and password your church admin gave you.
Tap My children → Add a child. Enter their name, date of birth, allergies and any medical notes.
On arrival, tap Check in next to your child.
A 4-digit pickup code appears. Keep it — you need it to collect your child.
At pickup, show the code to the volunteer. You can sign out any time; the code and times stay saved.
If you are a volunteer
Sign in and open the Desk tab to see every child currently in the room.
Search by child or guardian name. Each card shows allergies, medical notes and the authorised guardian's phone (tap Call if needed).
At pickup, type the 4-digit code the adult gives you and tap Check out.
If the code does not match, do not release the child — find an admin.
Open Shift for a summary of who came in and who left today.
If you are an admin
Sign in and open Admin.
Under Users, use Create an account to add parents, volunteers and other admins — only you can create accounts.
Send each person their email and password; they sign in at this link.
Check the dashboard for today's numbers, and History for any past check-in or check-out.
